A big hello from Tyneside
I've been taking photos for over 20 years with various compacts. The first SLR I bought was a Pentax ME super. A City and Guilds photography course soon followed which I gained passes in Portraiture and Architecture. Over time I changed my camera and eventually treat myself to a Canon AF SLR and have stayed with that manufacturer ever since
. I've been a member of a few forums (even ran one for 3 years before work got in the way) and a couple of camera clubs, so I already recognise a few names around here.
I started experimenting with Smoke Art while recovering from a knee operation on 2009. As I was pretty immobile for a few months I needed something to keep my photographic hobby going. I spotted an article on a website which brought smoke art to my attention and it quickly became apparent that it would be something I could try out easily enough in the house while recovering. First efforts were straight shots of smoke, but I soon progressed onto duplicating and removing smoke to bring emphasis to shapes, highlighting them even further with the use of colours.
Earlier this year I took over the chairmans role at West Moor Camera Club
