I've an older style Hitech ten stopper which I used on a recent trip to Iceland. All my shots with it have really strong colour casts that I am struggling to correct. White balance adjustments can get the grass back to the correct green colour but then rocks are red. I have to change HLS colour by colour to get closer. It seems that there is variation with these filters so I might just be unlucky (or incompetent) and the newer Hitech filters seem to do better.
There have been several Hitech extreme ND filters over recent years, some of the earlier ones had a very poor reputation for colour casts and problems with infrared pollution. Tell-tale signs are poor greens and brown shadows - almost impossible to correct. I've not tried Hitech's newer IR NDs, but they can only be much better.
