There's a guy i know from Flickr. He's takes some amazing photo's. He's grown from scratch some lovely lighting skills using your common and garden speedlites and some cheap ebay umbrellas.

He's just started a series on his blog giving tips and tricks about his shoots.... they are well worth reading.

Great place to start... and don't forget his photostream. (and watch out for Kym!)
