Somehow my 7d view got changed so that when I take a pic the review mode shows the histogram automatically.

I want to change it back so that I get full view of my pic automatically and zoom out to see the histogram, anyone tell me how to do it? Can't find it with a quick flick through of the manual.

because I don't want to automatically see it, I want to see my composition first then zoom out to see the histogram. It's no good having all the right pixels in all the right places if your framing is off my friend :-)

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit you know! :-)

I've read the manual thanks but I wasn't going to re-read 260+ pages to find something out that I got within a few mins on here

Magic page at the end of the book called an index, its like the last page of a crime novel where it tells you who done it :D

sure is, so take a look at that index on the 7d manual and then tell me which page to go to, i'll give you a penny sweet if the page that I needed (which I now know by the way) is found in the index

let me save you some time ... it's not

Obviously each to their own. I use the viewfinder to check composition and the release the shutter. Histogram lets me confirm exposure, something I cannot do without releasing the shutter...

I do the same, but the difference is I then recheck my composition on the LCD because my viewfinder isn't a 100% then I check the histogram.

I also am taking photos with my remote so I'm not looking through the viewfinder at every shot, I like to check the shots afterwards to make sure my daughter isn't out of frame etc

It's much better to ask on here. Read the manual and you risk getting a paper cut :'( and you know how much they can hurt :'(

Anyway... he has his manual under one leg of his tripod to get a good horizontal compositon!! ;)

Actually I'm using it as toilet paper because I've realised I'm not good enough to look at my histograms and be in the histogram club, so I may as well just use it as a point and shoot :gag:
