His name is dick.....

was that really his name or did the swear filter get you ?

I can see why:lol:

what, his name is dick ?

why didn't you say so

This ^

its only an abbreviation of Richard

He's gonna want his back rubbing from time to time.

Can't quite decide which mental image I prefer . . . You in the park calling "schwingschwong! Here schwingschwong!" or "Here Dickie, Dickie!"

Fortunately he is not my dog! (but I have heard both the above used!) :D

No! Poor little Dick will get a stiff back!

Bloody stupid word to filter out. Is it offensive? Really? No.

yep no more offensive than b****r or arse

Exactly. Or bottom, bell-end or b*****ks really is it.

i dunno lovespuds is highly offensive

It's all to do with context. Neither b****r nor arse are particularly offensive on their own and I have a vague memory of b****r having been deemed to be not unparliamentary some years back. Pair the 2 as b my a and while not necessarily offensive, they do take on rather different meanings! Ditto with the D word; Dick may well be a dick but one is fine while the other is a personal insult. Not sure if the alternative spelling of the old word for small balls gets filtered (ballocks) - I suppose we'll see!

That's why I only cheat for Dick the name and let dick the insult be changed - not so much bypassing the swear filter as using a bypass! Personally, if my name was Richard, I'd rather be called Dick than Schwingschwong!!!

Indeed, I've had time off for abusive language (well deserved) but didn't bother using the method I use for Di... In fact, I don't think it worked on the old software!

it did ;) - I don't i have to say use it like that in anger - only to avoid the the swear filter interupting the discussion of a book by Herman Melville and such

Could always call it Moby Ricardo
