Hi

I am asked to portrait photograph office colleagues for their profile photos to be posted on our company’s intranet. Would I be OK in hiring a train (although a plain white wall should be OK I am guessing) along with 2 soft boxes and lights to go with it or something more? Please advice.

Thanks.

not aware of -anywhere- that hires backgrounds. Some places, eg calumet will hire background stands, but you'll need to buy your own backdrop paper.

Lighting there's a million different options for tbh.

If you want just tight headshots on a white background, yes, it's definitely possible to get good results with two heads and two softboxes. It's by no means the perfect solution, and I obviously don't know your experience with lighting, but it is definitely doable... Watch your light ratios and your contrast and flare that you're getting back from the wall. Shoot with a long lens.
