Yes
ive a small scartch on my high pass filtar on my d200 and sent it for a repair quote with has come back as £600 as the people said they need to change the low pass filtar..which is rubbish but does the whole sensor need replacing as its only a small scratch on the high pass filtar glass.

has enyone had this work done...cause im not paying £600....

Sounds like you dropped it and had to claim it on house insurance to me! ;)

But seriously, that doesn't sound right. A sensor is not £600, and equally neither is the labour. It would take an expert a matter of hours to change it. I'd reckon it would be more like £250/£300.

£600 is more than a good 2nd hand D200!

Was that Nikon's price or is it through somewhere else?

I'd get another quote from a couple of repair organisations Try Fixation,or Lehmanns

it was nikons they say they can only replace the who;e sensor unit and that is why its £600 think i might have to drop it........
