What sort of thing do you want? Tried mpb photographic for prices? Or looked in the classifieds here. There's a 400d cheap.

If you don't mind secondhand I'd recommend MPB Photographic too.
There are a few well respected retail outlets for second hand equipment, but MPB is the only one I have personal experience of and I've had excellent service whenever I've used them.

If you're on a budget you should be able to get a second hand entry level DSLR and kit lens within the £150-£200 price range.
If you're serious about starting a business in photography at some stage, you'll probably want to upgrade in the future but that should be sufficient to get you started in the world of DSLR photography.

There's a bit of a wait until you meet the criteria for classifieds here, but you probably wouldn't get massive savings over what you could buy elsewhere anyway.

p.s. Which college are you studying at?

Good stuff here.

I'd recommend the classified here and I've used MPB, very happy with the lens.

Good luck and hope to see some photographs.
