Been lurking for a while so thought it was about time I registered. Fairly new to digital photography, although I had a lot of fun with my Practica MTL III in the 1980s. Bought a Canon 550d this summer and very quickly developed a bit of an obsession with photographing the sea birds along the beaches near me. I've since upgraded to a 7D and am now considering some serious glass to put on the front of it (decisions, decisions...). I'm still only shooting JPEG while I get used to handling the camera and practice technique but I want to get my head around RAW and processing so I have a lot to learn and a lot of questions.

Looking forward to joining in and picking up some useful tips.
