Hi, I have recently joined and hope the forum will help to improve my enjoyment and photographic abilities. Any comments would be welcome.

Currently I have a Dynax 5D having only used compact cameras for the last 20 years. I still have a Minolta XG2?? but haven't used it for years.

The Dynax 5D has produced some good photographs of Scottish scenery, also other subjects. I am thinking up grading to some thing with Movie capabilities and more megapixels so that pictures can be cropped without problem. Any thoughts on Nikon 5100/7000 or Canon550D/600D. One thing I have been trying to do is geotag pictures, but with limited success.:|

Welcome Nigel,First set a budget,then get down to a camera shop if you can and handle the cameras.
Don't have any idea on the cameras you mention,but any of those will produce good pictures.
Have a look in the talk equipment forum, you will see most cameras mentioned.

And ask for advice in the talk basics........

Welcome again Nigel ,you will find Digital photography so much easier than film.

Thanks for the advice, I'm just taking things slowly and seeking all the advice I can get.
