Not sure what happens next!!

I'm new to all this, found this website via Colab.

I bought myself a Canon 400D a few months ago and have been on a steep learning curve.

I last used a SLR about 35 years ago (yes I am getting on a bit) and then went to point & shoot. I have now come back to digital SLR and am trying to remember what I know all those years ago.

This is the first forum type website I have used and can't say that I particularly understand what a thread is, however here goes.

 Hi and :welcome:

Hiya!
Fairly easy to pick up ......just go to "forums", choose a topic to click on and have a read. If you want to add a comment , click "post reply" type your comment in the box that opens up, then click "submit" and Bob's your uncle! ;) Have fun!

welcome!

Hello :)

Well done on your 1st thread :)

Your previous SLR experience will soon come back to you and prove very helpful.

Hi and welcome to TPF, hope that you find it as useful and enlightening as most of us seem to :)

Hello and :welcome: to TP Forums RT ...

If it helps ... a Forum is a group of threads linked by a common theme, topic or subject ... and a Thread is the name given to a single theme/topic/subject started by a Post within an (appropriate ... ;)) Forum, by an individual member and contributed to, or responded to, by other members each adding their own posts to the thread ... ... I think ... :D

HTH ...

Hello

You are very welcome! My first and only Forum - I love it! Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

The name comes from a business I had many moons ago and I now use it as an id to remind of the past!

My partner (now wife) and I use to put on outdoor concerts, mainly classical proms type with the National Symphony Orchestra. we also did the pop stuff with the likes of Hot Chocolate, Showaddywaddy, Tremeloes, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Boot Leg Beatles, etc., etc.

As was the fashion you had an obscure name and that was the one I came up with, nowadays you have people like Mean Fiddler, Club Fandango, etc.

We still go to a lot of concerts particularly the UEA student unions events in Norwich although most of the rest of the audience are younger than our children. We have seen there Corrinne Bailey Rae, James Morrison & Clap Your Hands Say Yeah before they became big.

Last year we saw Duke Special as the support to Divine Comedy at UEA, he's a bit wacky but hopefully he will get more of a mainstream following.

Anyway, that's where the name came from.
