Hiya,

just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself.

My names Billy and I'm very new to this whole photography business.

I have a D60 and a AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED which I'm quite happy with so far, although I'm hoping to get a Nikon 35mm 1.8 pretty soon. And then hopefully some sort of macro set up, whether it be a dedicated lens (Tamron SP 90 or the Sig 105) or as suggested on another forum the Raynox DCR-250 which would work out a lot cheaper and hopefully allow me to get a bigger zoom.

I've been reading up on most of the theory and (hopefully) have a reasonable understanding of the Aperture/SS/ISO conundrum. I've been out shooting during lunch at work hour, just to get used to the cam and see the effects of the changes. Pretty much been a single object and taking loads of pics of it with various settings to see the changes and what seems to work and what doesnt.

I don't have any experience with a camera apart from point and shoot but am keen to learn what I can. With a 2 1/2 year o ld son I'm a bit fed up with every pic being almost the same type. Loads of clutter, badly composed, and poor quality. So hopefully I can up my game somewhat.

I don't think I have much problems following the technicalities of the shooting techniques, but I know for a fact that I don't really have an ounce of artistic ability (I find PS technically challenging to do copy something as opposed to being able to come up with my own ideas) in my body so I'm hoping to get some great inspiration from the members on here. I've looked around the various boards (specially the glamour one surprisigly ;-) ) and theres some great examples from you guys and girls.

Anyway, thats me intro'd. Looking forward to gaining some knowledge, and chatting to you all.

Cheers

Billy

I've put up my ONLY decent photo ever :-(
