Hi! Just Purchased My First DSLR...

Morning all,

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi since I've just joined up on here.

My names Ryan, I'm 26 and I'm from Cambridge. My dads always been into photography, having 'fond' memories of lugging his huge camera bag around as a child. I think I got the bug from him. I've always enjoyed photography but never really made a go of it with anything other than a point-and-shoot camera.

Yesterday I purchased my first DSLR, it was a toss-up between the Canon 550d and the Nikon D90. I went for the Canon (awaits the boos and hisses) simply because it felt better in my hands and I preferred the cameras operating system.

The camera will be used for pretty much everything, but I bought it to take some 'professional' snaps of my girlfriends millinery head pieces for her website.

I'll add some pics once they've uploaded.

Looking forward to spending some time on here and learning my new camera.

Yea, we've got quite a large front garden... Here's a pic from today (not great). Can only get about 1/3 of it in... Need a panoramic shot really.
