Hi

Im new to this forum so thought i would say hello!

Im from South Yorkshire and very much a novice but love photography and want to learn more.

I work full time so i am just wanting to take it up as a hobby to relax.

Currently only have a bridge camera but looking for my first DSLR (think im going for the Nikon 3200 but open to other options) i have a 9 year old daughter who loves photography too so just looking for a suitable compact camera for her to use (though she is pretty good with my bridge camera too!).

Looking forward to learning lots of new things and learning from you all

x

Welcome 'Jool1975'. You will find plenty of helpful folk on here, and lots of inspiration in the photo threads.

Welcome Jool, you've come to the right place if you love photography and would like to learn more.
Have a look at the "New Posts" and you'll get an idea of the sort of things going on on the forum. Don't be afraid to join in, remember there's no such thing as a stupid question!! :)
Post some pictures as well.

Haha my pictures are awful compared to all the ones on here but i will give it a go!

This was one of my faves but when i went to a photography talk and showed it was told all the things that are wrong with it lol

Welcome Jool. The only thing I can see really wrong with that is its not particularly sharp (it might just be the compression on the JPG image showing here, photobucket tends to mess with people's images, try flickr) but focus seems even so not sure why someone would moan. There a faint wire running through its head but nothing <major>. It does slight distract on the image but this isn't the place for C&C, its a welcoming page. Post it up in C&C under the bird section(y) (let them know you're new, to be nice and needing help) and see what response you get.

Hi Jool, And welcome aboard TP, looking forward to hearing from you and maybe seeing some of your images on the various forums. "Enjoy".

Thanks for that! i appreciate it, i will post in the other section. i love birds of prey so they are one of the things i want to take more shots of so any help would be fab.

I too like Birds of Prey- a dslr would help take better shots as you have more control over shutter speed and aperture, both important to obtain a sharp image

here's one I took of my friends Kestrel - oh and welcome to the forum
