hi everyone as the title says im new to photography i started with a fugi finepix s1 pro that my brother gave to me as he was into photography in a big way and it was something that intrested me , as things have turned out my brother passed away about two years ago now and i have been left with his cameras , so i have been looking at them for a while now thinking he would go mad if thay were not getting used , so with some luck ill be able to get some pointers on how to use them and what all the lens do ,so any help would be a great help

Hi david and welcome to TP:)

That's an interesting cross section of equipment you have .

Read the different sections, your camera manuals and get shooting.

After a while you may wish to become brand specific but at least you get a free trail of different brands.
 
hi thanks for the welcome i have got a bit of a clue as i have been useing my fugi cam and i am guessing that all cameras are the same so the little bit i know should be the same for the rest or am i wrong at that ? i cannot find the manuals for nikons but i have the one for the canon , i am going to try and get out and about thie weekend to see if i can catch something intresting so with luck i will have some pictures soon

good bunch of stuff there
my advice is eliminate all but one...then use that to the best of your ability
lots of gear can sometimes get in the way...sort of plank in your eye
 
hi everyone thanks for the links to the manuals thay will be a BIG help , so im guessing that all cams are not the same ? does anyone know of any clubs that i can join to help me with them as well ? as i have said i realy dont know how thay work :shake: and i would like to use them and try and get some nice pictures thanks

Hi David, :wave: and :welcome: to TP.

It's good seeing that you're keen to put that kit to use :thumbs:. My recommendation, if you don't mind, is to use one of, either, the Canon or Nikon with just one lens and take that as a learning instrument. Any of the SLRs you've listed is very good, and I wouldn't recommend you change anything until you know where you're heading.

I hope you enjoy TP, there are plenty of helpful people here, so go to the right sub-forum and ask all you want, you will get more tips and pointers that you bargained for :)

hi everyone and thanks for the big welcome :) i had planned to get out and get some pictures taken this weekend but that work thing got in the way i did get out on friday with my lass so ill put a few pictures on that i took there not that good:eek: but i guessing everone has to start , im in newcastle the camera i used was the canon thanks dave
