Hi guys
i have made a few posts on here but thought it was about time i said hello properly. i joined a while ago to read up & research before i bought my first digital camera. well after careful consideration i bought a Panasonic LX3 about a year ago which i now carry everyday (just in case)
the Panasonic is an awesome little camera for what it is but you quickly find the limits of a small sensor when you start trying stuf with it so i've recently taken my first step into DSLR land with a D200.
the mrs liked it so much i've just got her a D40x (from here which should turn up today) so we should be getting out & about with them soon :)
we live on the Surrey/Hants border but also spend a fair few weekends at the coast on Hayling island, we have a place right on the front.

a picture so you know who to punch if i upset any of you :bonk:
not that i'm planning to do so

Hi..and ................:welcome:

when i bought my D40 - the owners manual was rubbish....printed in grey text !
have a look at "Nikon D40/D40x Digital Field Guide (Paperback)" at Amazon Books <£10
well worth it ..............

Hi Adam & welcome to the forum

thanks for the welcome & thanks for the advice John
i'll point her towards that book

hi and welcome...nice framing in that shot

Hi Adam, welcome to TP. I'm also new here but have to say everyone is great and making you feel welcome. No doubt we'll bump into each other sooner or later, I'm also on the Hants/Surrey border and aim to attend any local meets.

so far so good :D
had a quick peep at your Flickr, how many pages
lots & lots of good wildlife stuff, bit of 4x4 action & even some Karting from Blackbushe :D
sold my kart a while ago now, much too fat for karting nowadays!
i just skimmed through as i was going out but there's lots of lovely shots on there

hopefully there will be a local meet as it will be be nice to meet people who actually know how to use their cameras

I know, my flickr account is all over the place. The best way to view it is by using the sets and collections, I use flickr as a bit of a dumping ground and use it for keeping a backup of my images. Depending on when you sold your kart, we may know each other, my other half has been racing TKM's at blackbushe since 2002, and I was their club photographer from mid 2005 until end of 2008. I also did 4 years at FEKC in Andover.

Hi Adam, and :welcome: to TP.

N1cky
i think the last time i used my Kart was back in 2000 but had it just sitting around til it lost all its value by the time i sold it in 2005 :cuckoo:
i keep thinking i should pop back over for a look one saturday but never seem to remember:bonk:
i'm still racing but not Karts or MX anymore, i needed a hobby that didn't hurt me so now i race RC buggys :D
8th scale offroad most of the year with a bit of electric tenth scale indoors during the winter:thumbs:
