Thought i would pop in and say hello

I am new to this, but have always loved looking at professional photographs and reading photography magazines. I knew it was something i would love to get into, but never really could afford such an expensive hobby.

Good news is, i finally bought myself a camera and 3 lenses, so i am going to start clicking away this weekend. Was reading the camera manual last night for hours and it was all a bit strange to me, but i am hoping i pick things up quick and learn as i go. I know it will take a lot of mistakes, patience and time though - but im in for the long run.

Welcome to TP Kat. The 450D is an excellent camera to start with. I still have mine and will not consider selling it even though I now have a 7D. It will always be a great back up camera for me.

I found it a really good camera to both learn the technical side of photography as well as the art.

Best way to learn and improve is get out there, take some shots and post them up for C&C. There are plenty of very helpful people on here that will offer advice on all aspects of photography

Welcome Kat, this is an amazing site for anyone interested in any form of photography and 99.9% of the people on here will offer advice etc. I am learning also and trying different methods out. I look forward to seeing what you put on.

Hi guys - thanks for the warm welcome! I can't wait to get stuck in!!!

I already love my new camera, and will most definately be taking it everywhere i go from now on! Me and my husband were taking random photos on it last night of plants etc, and we were both amazed by the picture quality. I am glad i made the jump and bought it!
