Well not so sunny actually!

Hi I'm Steve,
Found the forum from another site and found it lively and interesting!
Have 'dabbled' in photography for a long time and I'd describe myself as a long suffering amateur photographer. I decided a few years ago to put more time into photography as I love it, and I especially love the stunning landscapes I see posted on line. I always thought I 'should' be able to do that!
After snapping my Achilles' tendon (twice) curtesy of my beloved Triumph Bonneville I am still contemplating giving up on tying to kill myself and revert to a gentler pastime of photography. ( having said that I did fall down a crag in the lakes trying to take a picture once on holiday).

I love landscape photography and have a thing about woods, love the wild places like Wales, The Peaks, The Lakes, etc. we have such a stunning country! I'm an Ex mountain leader and never carried a camera with me (how stupid was that, looking back) now I want to go back an photograph all those stunning landscapes!

I guess one of the things I like about photography is there is always lots to learn and I enjoy that, retaining it is the problem:).
In my view there is no such thing as a 'stupid question', clearly if someone asks a question they don't know the answer, therefore it isn't stupid.... (Thought I'd add that I case I ask a question) :) I hope I can add to the community here and bring something useful to the table....
I look forward to making some friends here and get some ( not too harsh ) critique on photographs that's how we learn isn't it? There are some fantastic photographers on this site and I can only aspire to be half as good as them and I'll be happy!

Have a great day everyone and cheers in advance!
All the best
Steve

Hi Steve and welcome to TP. Sad to hear about your incidents with the bike. Why not combine the two hobbies, you can get to some pretty remote spots on the bike, just downsize to a moped.:) Look forward to seeing your first images.

Hi Steve
Nice to meet you, yes I thought that too but pushing British bikes up hill in no fun! It's the kick start I'm paranoid about, couldn't go through all that again. Might have to get one of those new fangle bikes with a button to start :)!
Thank you very much for the welcome, hope my images come up to scratch!
Rgds Steve

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum. Look forward to seeing you around the place.

Hi Steve and welcome to the forum.

Hi Steve, And welcome aboard, looking forward to hearing from you and to seeing some of your images on the various forums.

I use to have an "SS Norton" that I dropped a Bonnie engine into a few moons ago, it use to go! pretty well. The Triumphs always seem to have better engines than the Nortons, but the Nortons tended to stay on the road a bit better. "Good Times".

Hi Guys thank you very much for the friendly welcome! Chris sunny Dorset! Scooters eh look like a Vespa to me! George! Triton!! Never did get there had the Mr whippy Triumph frames:) Thinking of getting rid of some of my bikes now.... Maybe (truth is I haven't got the heart to sell them... Norkie like your avatar! .... Nick I'm a Nikon man too...

Thanks Mandy! Look forward to chatting on the forum. I guess your bike starts on the button, better than kicking the flipping things:)
