...where it always rains.

Hi all, first time for me on a photography forum but I really want to learn what I'm trying to do. I enjoy macro and dog photography and have been inspired of late because my wife has also taken a like to macro. I just bought her a Canon 700D and 100 mm macro USM to play with :) Lens hasn't arrived yet though sot she's been using my old Olympus E-500 + 105 mm sigma.

Looking forward to learning..

Hi Andrew, And welcome aboard TP, looking forward to hearing from you and maybe seeing some of your images on the various forums. "Enjoy".

hey andrew welcome from a fellow devonian - you aint kidding about the weather, the monsoon season is upon us :runaway:

Hi Andrew! I used to live near Okehampton some years ago so I know all about the rain.

Hi Andrew. Welcome - enjoy the camaraderie here at TP. Whereabouts in Devon? We're planning a trip around Ilfracombe way - any especially good locations?

Hi Andrew and a warm welcome to TP.
Hope you enjoy yourself here :)

Welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

@ Carl You will have the Tiverton canal only 10 minutes from you, lots of wild life there and of course exmoor, 20 minute drive with stunning views. The North devon coast is breath taking too. I'm from Honiton about 20 miles south.

Thanks Andrew. Had a peek at the canal on the web - looks fab as does Exmoor (we may possibly stay at Exford).

Hi Andrew, And welcome to the forum

Welcome. I was born and bred in Dawlish.
Seems there are a few Devonians about.

Hi, Andrew, from another Devonian born and bred - Exeter based.

Hoping our delightful holiday weather breaks for tomorrow's (22/8/15) mini meet (often more informal bumping into each other!) in the field behind the Smugglers Inn on the Teignmouth side of Dawlish, looking down on the Dawlish Air show. There's a thread in the meeting area but the gist is that the Red Arrows, BBMF and the Vulcan (among many others) will be flying/displaying along Dawlish sea front and the field gives a brilliant view down onto a lot of the display and has the Reds in particular sweeping in (seemingly) inches over our heads (OK, slight hyperbole but they're very low overhead!) The show starts at noon but with the Vulcan's drawing power, we're planning on getting there at 10 to bag a parking space and a decent spot on the hill. I'll be wearing a disreputable old Tilley hat with a TP badge on the front and look like this... Maybe see you there.
