Hi

New member from South Beds ... was planning to try and catch the meteor tonight but 100% cloud cover so that ain't happening!

I currently have a Nikon D5100 (Since May 2012) with both the standard DX format Zooms 18 - 55 & 55 to 200 ... neither are particularly fast lenses so I'm saving up for a fast prime ... perhaps the 35 Sigma f1.4 (which I think will give me the equivalent of about 50mm on the DX sensor)

I have had a series of compact and digital cameras since 2001`(Kodak DC4800, Fuji S3000, S500, S5500 & S9500) ... my first ever Camera was the Pentax ME Super (I saved my paper round money) but traded that in for the first of many compact 35mm film cameras in my early 20s.

My grand father was in house photographer for a number of industrial and aerospace companies in Coventry and Hatfield before and after WW2, and a reconnaissance photographer during ... he died in the 50s and although I never met him there is a wealth of his work within the extended family and both his sons have been involved in photography.

I am interested in extending my photographic techniques ... and exploring properly, perhaps for the first time, my inner artist.

I look forward to "meeting" you and receiving criticism and advice in equal measure!

Hi Jean-Paul,

I see you are very close to me in Slippery End ... are there any RW photo clubs in the area you can recommend?

Matt

Hi Matt, yes very close :) not aware of any clubs, but then again I've never looked for any either to be honest.
