Hi
My name is Julie and my fella is Chris . We have 2 young dogs , a parrot , malawi cichlids and a guinea pig . We enjoy doing basic gundog training with our older pup Sadie (10 month old clumber spaniel ) our other pup is too young just yet but does basic obedience (5 month older cocker)
I like taking photographs , I take my camera wherever I go sometimes with good results and sometimes a blurred mess !!
I have just got to grips with the macro setting as I like to do close ups of insects and flowers ....
I really love cooking and we have an indian night every Saturday , we have a different curry and other dishes and really enjoy them as do our friends .
Back to gundog training .....as you can imagine there will be lots of action shots to be had at these lessons . I have been successful with some action shots and others I've missed the subject completely or ended up with a blur of fur and grass !! So thats what brings me here . I would like to photograph my dogs in action ! Getting 'that shot' .....I dont think my camera is up to it .....and need to invest in something that will grow with me as I develop my camera skills . I'm thinking digital dslr !!
Anyway thats it from me , I'm off to find another plave to post about what camera I need . Chat soon .

I'm originally from Preston but I've lived here since 1978.

This forum is very good. There are some very knowledgeable people on her (I'm not one of them, btw) who will share their expertise quite willingly.

You can learn loads on here : I certainly have.

There are some of my favourite things mentioned in your post - dogs, tropical fish, Indian cookery, photography . . . you're clearly a lady of very good taste :D

It's good to have you here and there's always lots of help and advice on hand.

Cant wait to be able to get started to be honest .....I've always liked photography from being a little girl .
But I need to understand my camera and its settings first before I move on to better things .
