Hi everyone in the forum.

Decided to join the forum as a way of hopefully re-stimulating my interest in photography. Was a time when I was never seen without a camera, but since the advent of the digital age I've rather lost interest. :help:

My old set-up was medium format 6x7 and had my own home studio and dark room. The dark room was the first casualty, made way for a nursery, then the medium format camera - although that was a downward spiral via a 645. Now I just have a rather old Canon Digital SLR (don't even know off the top of my head the model )

I've still got loads of studio gear, but when we moved house I never bothered using it as I no longer had a dedicated room - so it's ended up languishing in various locations about the house, indeed got a couple of light stands that have never been take out of their boxes.

Anyway sorry for the rather long intro, but rather than just lurk I decided to jump in and start posting.

Hi Paul & welcome to the forum

There's quite a few on here from the SW.

Welcome!

Welcome Paul! Hope you get the spark back :D What are you shooting with now?

Gary.

Well just found the Canon, it's a 10D - I'm not a spec person and when I was looking for a camera of all the ones I tried this just felt right in the hand(s). This is the second Canon I've owned the last one was an A1 but that was a long time ago now. As for studio flash gear this has always been Multiblitz for their compact size, light weight and robustness & even now I've got more than enough equipment to kit out a portrait studio. In reality though I think its probably about time to get rid of most of this stuff and just settle for the bare minimum - last time I used my autopoles it was for some building work:(

Plenty of 'my work' floating about on the web, but I suspect of little interest here ;)

One thread on another forum has a 100+ pics and over 19,000 hits and is used as a bit of a reference by some people - but is nothing really to do with quality photography - more in the happy snapper league :)

Cool I'm intrigued, what do you like to shoot? When you say used in reference - from a tutorial point of view? I'm a nosy b****r, always enjoy looking at work from all new members.

welcome from just over a wee bit :D

if you ever want to borrow a darkroom to have a little film play let me know and I'll see what I can arrange ;)

Will be starting a new project soon so will be asking advice and puting some of the, shall we say, more considered results on here ;)

That's a great offer, thanks - but not too sure I'd know where to start after a 13 year lay off!
