I,m a beginner but very keen to improve have just bought a Canon dslr eos 400d, and love it but need to understand technical stuff, that I keep reading about, recommend me a book or whatever as I feel I am missing out just shooting in auto mode

/+1 An excellent read. I found taking pictures, reading bits of the book, taking more (better?) pictures, read a bit more of the book and so on was a good approach.
