Wish to find out the best lens for taking close up sports action shots? Both outdoor, football, cricket and indoor swimming, please?

Any suggestions most welcome....but don't blind me with long words !! LOL

A 70-200 f2.8 or a 300mm f2.8 should cover your needs lens wise and a 1.4x tele convertor for extra reach

Hi, sorry....I have a canon 400D, with a 75-300 tamron lens, but want to get closer to the action, would look to spend around 500 pounds on a lens

One way would be to buy second hand and look to find something like a 300mm or 400 f5.6. However these will struggle with light indoors. For the indoor shots then ideally a 70-200mm f2.8 but the IS version will really blow your budget.

Another option is to go for sigma or tamron and possibly the sigma 120-400 or 150-500 for the outdoors. Again both these will struggle indoors
