I'm very much an amateur but I've just upgraded from a Nikon D3100 to a D610 - the lens will have a wait a little while. I've just completed a GCSE in Photography. I'm snapping away and hopefully learning with the aim of getting accredited through the RPS sometime - hopefully in the not too distant future!

That is certainly a good upgrade to the D610 - it's probably not the most "popular" body on this forum but to me it seems the ideal combination of compact size & weight (if used with a prime at least!) yet offering a full frame sensor.

Thanks all! I chose the d610 as I reckoned I'd already got a crop sensor camera and it was a case of finally making the leap to full frame. The 610 is compact which is great for me - mind you it's still a weighty article compared to the 3100! I feel like I did when I got the 3100 - at sea with all the functions. I'll get to grips with it yet :-)
