Hello All,
I've just been a "happy snapper" for many years, but now that I'm on the verge of retirement I've started getting together a bit more in the way of equipment as I plan to spend a lot more time taking photographs and digging into more than just basic photo editing with my Adobe Photoshop.
I live in South Wales, but am away working in West Africa (and a little bit in USA) for most of the year. Unfortunately because I work in an unstable area, I'm mostly confined to my office and housing compound these days, so don't have a lot of opportunity to get out and about to take photographs. There's also the problem, that even if I do, many people don't like being photographed, or if photographing buildings there's always the risk of arrest and having equipment confiscated by someone (usually in plain clothes, but carrying a gun) who says that the building is a 'restricted area'. I recently had this problem when just photographing the interior of a new shopping centre, despite the fact that there are a number of pictures of the very area I was photographing in the public domain on the internet :thumbsdown:.
