Just thought i would pop in and say hello,

I am new to the forum and i am also looking for some advice !!!!!!


I want to get a new dslr camera having never used one i was kinda hoping people on here could point me in the right direction. Looking to do landscapes and scenery mostly but then there will be some close ups too.

Welcome to TP Graham!

You don't necessarily need a DSLR or indeed a new DSLR (plenty of good second hand ones around) but it would help to know your level of experience i.e. been using film for 35 years or never picked up a camera!, and your budget.

Never owned a dslr but i do have a bridge camera panasonic lumix fz8 nice little bridge camera.

Started to play about with the settings on it to capture the moon have to say not to bad given its only a 12x zoom. I also do alot of fly fishing to and would love to capture the fish taking the fly. I want to start tying my own flies too and taking shots of them.

Experience well i would say very little to be honest with you as it was my wifes passion before i met her and she seems to have given it up so i thought if i got into it then it would be something we could do together.

Budget well again not really sure i guess no more than £250 really or is that wish full thinking ?

Graham,

You should be able to pick up a second hand entry level DSLR for that budget but I am not sure you necessarily need one for what you want to do.
