Hi everyone,

I have just joined Talk Photography as i'am new to photography and can hopefully learn a lot from the advice and techniques everyone has.
I have only recently started photography although it is a hobby I have always been fascinated in. I have acquired a camera, namely a Canon 300d from a family member and so although limited have been able to start my own photography journey.

I look forward to learning from everyone.

Hiya! Another newbie saying hi! Il be a proud owner of a 600d in a few hours!

Hi matt.
I myself am new to the forum, but, been into photography before many many years ago.
I myself have a Canon EOS 1100D.
The lads and lassies here are friendly and helpful.

Hi and thanks for commenting. Its great to hear from people and see what they are using set-up wise and what backgrounds they come from.
I like the fact that there are so many newbies like myself, it's reassuring that we all have faith in the forum and the guidance available here.
I hope to get a Canon 600d very soon, but very jealous as by now you will probably be snapping away with it!!

What's the 1100d like?? Nice to see so many Canon users on here :-)

Buy lenses before a new camera, and only buy them when your current kit doesn't do what you want it to. Unless you are very rich then buy me a 7d for the good advice then buy what you like ;-)
Just think of all the iconic images that have been captured on battered old film cameras by just being in the right place and time with the right settings. Kit aint everything.
I still want a 7d though ;-)

The 100D is in my opinion a good entry level camera, I have found it easy to get to grips with and everyone who has seen pictures taken with it have been very impressed with the clarity of image.
When I bought the camera (From Jessops) I got a bag, Tamron 70-300mm Lens, UV Filters (pointless for photography but useful to protect the lens), memory card, protective plastic for lcd screen, bag, all for £490, but, I believe it has now gone down in price, so, well worth a look.

Thanks for the advice Bambi. I have been lucky enough to get my current 300d for free, so spurred on by the sheer amount of lenses and compatibility of the Canons I have bought the Tamron 70-300mm just last week. I think your right that if I build up a few lenses initially and get to grips with them and wait for a new body for the time being.

Yeah I had seen the 1100d in Jessops and it does seem to have come down a bit, but still a great deal. I've also got the Tamron 70-300mm lens, which at the moment I'm really impressed with.
