Good evening everyone :)
This is my first post, so just introducing myself.

Have previously spent a lot of time with Photoshop and Macs working on other people's images, but less so over the last 10 years - more recently finding myself needing a creative outlet again so have decided to dust off the PowerBook and get out there and start taking some of my own.

Inspired by a recent trip through Borneo and various parts of Malaysia I now own Panasonic Lumix G3, so am looking forward to getting to grips with it.

I've no intention of taking myself too seriously with my images - for me it's more the creative process that I'm enjoying the most :)

This forum was recommended to me as a great resource to learn from and be inspired by - and I hope that I might be able to contribute something along the way! I'm open to any advice that people are willing to offer, so thanks in advance.

Here are a few pics, taken with a pocket 'point and shoot', from my trip (none of them have seen photoshop or been 'tweaked' - but I can see that they could well benefit from a bit of fettling!)

All the best
Ben

Hi!
Have been working to get my mac sorted so I can edit my pics and work on composition etc, but annoyingly the charger has just blown up!!
Need to find the CS4 version of Photoshop as I think it is the latest version that will run on my G4 PowerBook - frustratingly the current version, CS5 won't run on them any more.
I've seen some amazing images whilst reading through this site over the last few days - really inspirational stuff, but from what I can figure some of the kit being used costs a small fortune :)

Looking forward to spending some time starting to understand the Lumix G3 a bit more :)

am keen to start getting some feedback and start the learning.
reading through the feedback on other peoples work has been very interesting so far.
am I correct to be using Photobucket to link the images? figured that is the easiest way, rather than loading large files individually (presume that there is an upload limit?)

can't access Photobucket at work - so it's a job for later!

also - I notice that the 'Posts' still number zero in my profile - that's a bit odd, isn't it?! or does it only update weekley or something like that?
