Hello Everyone! ;)

My name is Kate, i am 23 years old and i live in Sittingbourne, Kent. I work for a bank and have done so for nearly 6 years. To be honest i hate it!!

I want to do more with my life, so my aim now is to make myself a professional photographer. I love taking photos! I was introduced to photography when i was 12 years old in school when i joined the photography club. It used to be film photography back then no digital photos its amazing how things have changed over the years.! I am interested in Portraits, Weddings, Pets, Landmarks and Nature Photography.

I started my first course today in basic digital photography, I thought start from scatch, i know nothing about photoshop or functions on cameras etc. I really enjoyed it! Its a 2 month course. Then after i will do more courses.

If anyone can offer me any help it would be appreciated. :help:

I want to learn as much as possible i am very glad i found this site! :clap:

I am also looking for work experience so if anyone knows anyone or would like some help in my local area or in the surrounding area of Kent i would love that. It would be great to learn from a professional!

Lol ! Yeah i live in sunny sittingbourne!!! Not from here moved around bit was in gillingham before but orginally from South East London!!!

Do u live in Sittingbourne?

I know the feeling, I work in a job that I LOATHE and feel your pain! I am also looking to step things up and your original post really hit a chord with me as I feel I am on the same path.

So if anyone else wants to use me as a free assistant, then I'm down with that. Located in Berks but to be honest, will travel as far as my car will go, just to get away from my existing crappy job!!

So, after all that, welcome Kate :)

Hi Kate

Just be careful, it wont be long and you'll be dreaming about that wide angle lens that you really have to have - handbags will be relegated to the far corners of your bedroom as you search for the ultimate kit :D

Seriously, it's a great hobby. I'm touching 50 and don't want to "re-train" so if I end up out of work then I'd like to give this a try. At the moment just learning, learning, learning. I've found that the tog community seems to be a very helpful one and you'll find the answer to most of your questions on forums like this one

Yeah i cant wait to learn eveything, its all interesting i love it. I hope to do this some day and be good at it and love it!! ;)
