Having been lurking around anonymously for a while, I have decided that you're quite a friendly lot really, so I plucked up the courage to sign up.
I've been interested in photography for many years but there has always been something else taking priority for my time. However, I've been saving for a decent camera for longer than I care to admit and the time is drawing near when I will spend my secret wad of cash and then try to convince my wife that I have spent far less than I really have.
I have found a huge wealth of information on this site (thank you
) and look forward to absorbing lots of this as I start a steep learning curve with my new kit. I'm more sciency than arty so I expect to understand the techy bits without too much trouble. The difficult bit is going to be the all the fluffy stuff. Having said that, I reserve the right to ask stupid questions about anything!
