I have been lurking on this site for a couple of weeks and have finally got round to registering:clap:
I guess I would describe myself as a keen amateur, though do think I ought to get out with my camera more often. Life just seems to get in the way! Joining a camera club tomorrow, making time for myself to enjoy my hobby.
I am a Nikon user, have a D80 and a D200 with various lenses. Hoping to learn loads on here and chat with like minded folk :)

Hi Magge

Welcome to TP

Look forward to seeing some of your work

Why not take part in our annual TP Day coming up soon 9th September, Where you take a photo on that day and post it on the forum, then all the Photos are made into a slideshow, Click the logo for more details, it's lots of fun to be a part of it:thumbs:

Thanks Dave

I will have a look at that, once I find "the logo" maybe because I am using my iPad I am not seeing it or then again I am bit of a technophobe so it could be that! I am not called Dizzy for nothing;)

Found it :) needed to log in via website. Hopefully will get my head around it in time to enter :cuckoo:

Hi Maggie, welcome.

I am relativelly new here as well and have already had lots of helpful advice as well as seen many inspiring images, people have been very friendly and encouraging.

Hi jao

Thanks for the welcome. It certainly looks the place to get good sound advice. Just need to get my head around a few things regarding the site, ie posting images etc. Looiking forward to getting to know folk:)

Hi Margaret, you will so get the hang of things, welcome aboard :)

Thanks for the welcome Mal:) I see you're location is Alnwick, how lucky are you? I am a Geordie exiled to Lincolnshire but pop home to Newcastle every year. Usually we rent a cottage on the Northumberland coast, my favourite place in all the world. In fact going there in December for a week, Can't wait :D

pull up a chair and enjoy

Hi Maggie I am actually a thoroughbred Geordie from Wallsend exiled in Alnwick:).

We live in a cottage and have been holidaying in a cottage in Oxfordshire for the past 7 years but this year is the last and have relocated our holiday to a cottage in the Peak District:).

Small world, I was born in Byker! But left there when I was four and moved to Westerhope. Eventually moved south in 1969 to Herts where I took up nursing. The Peak district is not too far from can be there in about 1 hour and 30 mins. A beautiful part of the country.

In December wee are going with friends to "The Bathing House" Lord Greys old property on the Howick estate. We have stayed there before and I love it's location and isolation. Last time we got snowed in! And had to be hauled up the cliff edge by a tractor, scary but exciting
