hi all have decided to take the plunge and try to get to grips with photography at the moment have a fuji finepix s7000 ,which seems ok but just wondering whether to upgrade to canon slr probably d300 or 400 will i notice much difference p.s(mainly wildlife and landscapes)

welcome to the forum Brian - an upgrade to a DSLR will make some difference as you'll have the ability to change lenses- I use a 10-20mm Sigma for landscapes which is a very useful lens, I also have several other lenes all of which have a use

Hi Brian, and to TP!

Getting a DSLR will certainly give you more options creatively (although it could be the start of some significant spending, too!). Which model will obviously depend on your budget and the lens(es) you'll want to go with the body, and you'll get plenty of good advice here if you ask questions in the Talk Equipment sub-forum.

I'd also strongly recommend going into a camera shop to handle a few different makes and models to see which ones you like the feel of. Some cameras could feel more 'right' in your hand than others. Have fun!
