Hi all, I am looking to buy my own dslr after borrowing my dads canon 20d for to long now.

I am looking for the 50d

I like taking pics at car show, and action pics on the 1/4 mile.

i have still got a very long way to go to learn about dslr shooting, but i hope i can learn as much as poss on the way

I have been borrowing my dads canon 20d with (from what i can remember) 17-85 is lens and a 70-300 is lend.

and it is the right time now to move on and get a dslr of my own to use.

the 50d feels like the right way to go, as it is a set up from what i have been using, and i can still borrow my dads lens

Hey Ian :) Welcome. The 50D is indeed a lovely camera! and a nice upgrade from the 20D but similar layout so not a whole new set of controls to learn.

Hello there, Ian. Like you, I've started on a relatively modest camera (the 450D) but I'm hoping to upgrade. I've heard nothing but good about the 50D so I think you'll have fun.
