HI ALL, NEW TO TP AND WOULD LIKE ADVICE!

Hi there everyone, im new to talk photography and im a total begginer, in fact i have not yet even purchased a decent camera.

i am though very interested in digital photography and i was wanting to purchase a new camera. I was wanting to know before doing this what type i should go for? I had a quick look through "which" magazine and there seems to be quite a lot on the market for beginners.

One camera i did notice was the Panasonic Lumix G1 and (i think)the Cannon D500, i think i have around £500 tops to spend on a camera but i would like that to include the likes of a tripod, bag, lenses etc, if possible.

Im open to anyones recommendations and help or advise you could give me before i make a purchase.

Welcome aboard Kris. This is a great place to learn from. Have a look through the talk equipment forum for advice on first camera, also take a look at the classifieds - anything you buy from fellow TPs here is pretty much going to have been looked after well !

Hi Kris and welcome to TP - as Matt says nip into Talk Equipment and have a look around and ask away in there! You'll get plenty of good advice :)
 
Hi kris and welcome, read up on the cameras you like the look of, decide what lens or lenses you want from day one and then check out the prices compared to your budget.
When i first started i had a Canon 350d and a 50mm f1.8 lens as it was all i could afford, but it got me taking photos.
other lenses, tripods filters and bits and bobs came later as i could afford them.

I would suggest that once you have narrowed down the choice to two or three cameras, go to a local shop and see how they feel. You may find that one make feels better than another when you get your hands on it.
