Hi,

This site has been highly recommended to me by another member... so looking forward to getting involved, and hopefully learning (a lot) along the way!

I've had photography as a bit of a hobby for the last few years; however fell in and out of love with it repeatidly in that time. Usually that's because I get too frustrated with my shots - and can't quite compete with all the myriad of photographers out there now. I started off with a Lumix FZ18 which helped me understand the basics of manual control, upgraded to a 550D a good few years ago and had some ok results, and now have a 5D MK3. I have limited lenses (held back before commiting to full frame); but enough to get me through for what I need so far.

I quite enjoy a bit of macro as it tends to be the easiest to work with... so I'll stick with that for now I think!

Cheers
David

Welcome to the forums David. Don't try competing with others, you will only find as I do that there are many many more talented togs than me and you. Find the genre your interested in or talented at and refine it. Have fun.:)(y)

Quite right and as long as you see a continual (even if very gradual) improvement in your own photos then you're heading the right way.

Even after many years of photography I am still learning new things.

Oh and a tip when taking pictures especially macros - take hundreds of pictures and chuck the bad ones - that's what I, and I suspect a great many others do.

With macros if I get 10%-20% keepers then I feel I've had a good day.

So a welcome from me also.
