Hey, new here and got a question on buying a camera :)

I bought my D5000 from them when it was released and managed to blag a free lowepro bag. I think it was a bribe for me to buy the camera after I said I was spending more than than I could afford.

Since then I have heard of people finding it cheaper online, printing the page out and jessops price matching it in store.

P.S. Welcome to TP!

I just got my D700, 24-70mm f2.8 and a 16GB CF extream pro card from them. i asked for a deal and they were very reluctent to do so, until i told them that another shop would do me a deal which was better then their's. they then said to me why didnt i say so and i got the £180 memory card for £40 matching the price i said this other place offered.

Nice one

Will the Nikon D5000 come with the nikon lens or does it come wilth a jessops lens?

Will come with a Nikon lens.

Jessops are only a retailer, so do not produce their own equipment.

Jessops seem overpriced to me, shop around before purchasing!

Hey everyone, good to be here :)

I wanted to buy a SLR camera from Jessops.
Anyone bought from them? Are they good to buy from?

Thanks for any replys
yeah, i got my 1000d canon from there... theyre pretty good at helping you out, blag them abit and they give you better deals too, got mine and a canon flash, only came up to about £600 instead of full price! do it! :)

Bought a compact camera from Jessops - and they price matched the web - which surprised me!

...I bought my first slr from the Classifieds on here - I've since upgraded it, again through the classifieds - and have still spent less than i would have in Jessops first time round.

Hi Kai, and :welcome: to TP.

For comparing prices, check out CameraPriceBuster (CPB), a very good indication to where you may find bargains.

Another thing, always and always ask, whichever store you decide to buy from, to price match the best deal you've found and to give you a free memory card and bag. There's no reason to be shy to ask. Chances are, most are happy to price match (but not with Amazon, or other purely online retailers), and the freebies are generally accepted
