hey guys im a photography student an i was wundering if you culd help me i have been given the task of photographing editorial scenes using natural light only but im strugling to find the right tym of day i find midday the light is to harsh and the morning and eveings to dull can anyone tell when is the perfect tym to photograph outside as i have a deadline to meet and im starting to worry all help wuld gratly apreciated :) x

Well you don't want to shoot at midday thats for certain, maybe if it is dull you need to add a little fill in flash ...... but not too much. Have you thought about using a reflector, they are cheap as chips to get hold of.

im not aloud flash at all i may get a reflector im just worried as i have set up some fantastic editoral style scenes but the lighting is distorying some of the most fantastic images ive ever took and it is starting to fustraite me a fair bit any recomendatios on decent refectors guys ? x

thanks that will be usefull later on but images first im starting to panic as it needs to be finished this weekend :(

I find around 4.30pm a good (ish) time to take photos at the moment. Its a subtle light, so not too harsh, but not too dull - just brings enough out in everything.

He wasn't offering a favour, he was taking the mick out of the way you type -- and it's not the first time either...

oh well thats just patetic isnt it and thank you for the advive for 430 i shall see what it is like about that time some times i find it a bit dull around that time but ill check the weather reports for then. and the gold reflector sounds good to me but there is a lot of colour already showing through in my images but will give it a try !

Well, depends what you are shooting.

This morning about 7:30 was loverly. Sun just rising and golden, heavy mist/fog layering the valleys with the sun just rising above...

Seriously, you get great light around sunrise/sunset and at this time of year that shouldn't be too hard for a student to get up for ;):D

Tomorrow is supposed to be pouring with rain, but saturday is supposed to be dry/nice.

Sorry, but I'm closing this. This is an English speaking forum and I'll close any more you write in gibberish as well.
