alright so my name's rob, im 22, i live in south devon.

i've had a D-SLR for about a year now and experimented with it a few times but haven't quite managed to get the best out of it yet. i don't know if you can really get that from these pics or not but everything i take seems to come out very flat, quite murky, no real depth or detail. i think its quite probably me having got one of the settings wrong, im trying to get to grips with apertures, ISO, exposure lengths, so many numbers....

anyway these are a couple of my best ones, if you've got any tips then fire away. im looking to improve my technical ability and increase the variety of shots i can take. i think i have a fairly decent eye for what might make a good shot, i just want to be able to get the best out of the camera. cheers.

Welcome to TP, Rob, you've some nice shots there, I love the expression on the dog's face in the second one :)

Hi there, nice pics!

What PP do you do?

Bumping up the saturation a bit in Photoshop (or Gimp is a free version) can really bring life into pics looking a bit dull.

You're right that does make it a lot more vibrant. I'll bear that in mind. Maybe i'm being an idiot but what do you mean by PP?

thanks for all your welcomes.

Hi Rob. Pics are great! As suggested, little bit of PP & you're there. Welcome to the forum. :)

Hi and :welcome: to the forum:wave:

Yeah that's one of them, I have two. The other one's actually younger and a bit cuter but Oscar's the more interesting to photograph because he always looks thoughtful. And he likes stones.

I have two also, they are much better pets in pairs.
