Thank youIMO, the first has a bit too much emptiness at the top - even for an environmental portrait style shot (oddly, an even wider view might be better!) The other 2 both have their merits since they're 2 different styles.
I like the top one, it gives more of a feel of it's habitat. It's more than just the heron that way.First one for me. A shot of a common bird needs something different in it to make it stand out, and this shot has some environmental interest. With a decent focal length lens, getting a heron portrait is relatively easy, so you either need great light or an interesting background to push she shot up a notch
