I ordered a game from GAME last Friday afternoon, it was dispatched from GAME that evening, to be in the hands of Hermes last weekend, yet as far as I know 3 days later they haven't received it yet... What gives?

Why does it take Hermes 3 to 4 working days for a simple delivery? Even Royal Mail are quicker and they're often incompetent and stuff goes "walkies" in the post.

Well I've just had an email from Hermes, they're delivering to the Flat between 11.00 and 13.00 today.

We had a Hermes parcel delivery a week ago, the car was a 20 year old Vauxhall and the driver was about 25 years old.
They don’t work for Hermes, they are just casual contractors. I believe they only get paid for a parcel delivered, they can’t afford to come back if you are not home.

i have just had the same, a few bits from amazon, they tried to deliver and for over 10 days the tracking has just said we will try again.
i bonged amazon and they just refunded no quibble

And therein lies the problem, if you're not in (as I frequently am not), the drivers don't have the forethought to leave it with one of the Neighbours, they take it back to the Depot, I once had to send Dad to a Hermes Depot in Rotherham for something I'd bought on eBay, pardon? Why Rotherham when there's a Hermes Depot on Heeley Common?

Well it turns out the delivery from GAME arrived at the Flat an hour ago... Delivered and left in front of the door (shove it through the flippin' letterbox you absolute Clown! It's not that big!)

They are referred to as "Herpes" for a reason ..........

Sometimes it isn't about forethought, if the delivery isn't allowed to be left with a neighbour then technically they can't. Why Rotherham and not another depot? Probably because it was sent out of Rotherham.

Yeah Hermes aren't great, they get a lot of stick and a lot for good reason, but sometimes people need to give couriers a break too. Two years flat out every single day thanks to Covid, to deliver peoples stuff, yet all we hear is complaint after complaint, and we're the ones delivering things for you, because you can't be arsed to go out to a shop and get it yourself. (I'm not working for Hermes though!) :ROFLMAO:

I think it depends on your local courier. A couple of years ago our local courier was the grandaughter of a lady who lives just up the street from us. She would drop off parcels or collect around lunchtime when she came by to see her gran. She had to give up the Hermes business due to ill health unfotunately. Service since has been very poor. Similar report from my sister. She always gets good service but the local courier is a friend who lives in the same village.
