Had a great day shooting with a 1975 Canon TLb, a lovely Breachlock FD 50mm f1.4 and Fuji Reala 100. It is newer that my usual 1974 Nikon F2 Photomic Saturday excursion camera!

Moral of the experience?

Nikon, Canon, they are both bl**dy good cameras!

Thanks Gramps, appreciated. I was feeling left out in the Canon Nikon shootout debate! But I love them both so I might be the odd man out!

I agree Brian, departure for me in my usual camera choice. looking for ward to see the images from that Canon lens as soon as the roll is dev'd by Asda!

Years ago the Canon 50mm f1.4 was the standard lens Canon used to compare their other lenses, as IIRC it produced neutral colours (maybe sharpness as well).....well that's the story on the net ;)

The Nikon looks like it's in the huff!

Nowt wrong with pansystemic leanings! At a quick think (and I'm sure I've missed a couple!), I have and use Nikon, Fuji, Canon, Minox as well as having Kiev, Olympus, Minolta, Kodak somewhere. Most are tools for particular purposes apart from the Oly (OM10) which was my FiL's so has some sentimental value (and since the camera has somewhere between sod and b****r all monetary value, I'll be keeping it!)

I could never afford a bayonet system back then so used Pentax 42mm kit which I gradually built up, although I did have a very good friend who was happy to loan me his kit (while he was in attendance!), Canon 35mm (A1 eventually - the first automated camera I used) and Hassleblad MF.
