As an additional precaution parents are urged to share as many pictures of their children as possible on facebook and flickr so that members of the public will recognise them even when half clothed. A spokesperson said " we are happy that no paedophile ever looks for photos of children on line, as they are too busy hangin arround seafront with their DSLRs , so this measure will kep our children safe an that "

And if some of these concerned citizens takes the law into their own hands and their victim is injured......those that cause the injury can of of course blame her because they acted on her posted information.

Watch this space for the first court case she has to defend ?!

My feeling it will not be a 'paedophile' but a member of this concerned group.

Well let's see how many other towns start similar groups.

They loweriig of imtellect continues unabated.... Southend is as uniteresting a place as it could be these days. I used to enjoy visiting there and taking my kids there when I lived in London......

Personally, I would have demanded the presence of a senior officer and would have taken contemporaneous notes, I always carry a small notebook and pencil. That particular approach would not have been brushed off with a 'b****r off' I would have taken that to the bitter end. I have my voice recordeder on the front page of my phone, and shortcutted, so I can turn it on covertly and record any threats and that off duty Po Lice man would have had an official public apology to make. I would have ensured it were he that ended up embarressed. I have had a similar thing and the officer in question had a blot on his copybook for the rest of his career.

The women - I would be pressing charges for something. There needs to be a stand made.

Good thinking, I was looking for my voice recorder the other day, finally found it buried in a folder. Will have to start using it when people are abusive to me. Moved recorder to my front page (y)

Problem is, these accusers are not prosecuted for wrong doing against an individual or wasting police time.

Quite a few sexist remarks in the comments of the article. But its OK, women are allowed aren't they!

Well I am converted to the Southend (sorry Sarfend) wimmin against pedalists and will be writing to the Home Secretary to get all cameras and phones with cameras banned from RIAT at RAF Faitford. I am not going but my cousin's sister in law's next foor neighbour is worried abour her kids getting their pictures taken by pedalists with really long cameras.....

Phones have voice recorders. If your camera does video, switch to video mode and record the oncoming assault.

They would be too close to video anything meaningful, although you may get audio of the person bashing your head in :D
 
I am involved in investigating collision for a company. Recently I was taking pictures of a collision scene. When people crossed the road I stopped taking pictures. I have no interest in taking snaps of people or their children. A large male with a child clearly upset that I was using a camera made a bee line for me but realised I think that I was lowering my camera when people were in the shot. The world has become a mad place, when it is assumed that if a child is in a shot then it must be for a bad reason.

Well I have started to reorganise my large Urban Reporter bag in order to make it suitable for 'nullifying' the inbred and poorly educated of places like Sarfend and their retarded view of "big camera = paedophile"

I have done the measurements and I can comfortably carry extra kit.....

Some may that the 0.50" calibre Desert Eagle is a tad "over the top" but Sarfend Cranium resists the lower calibre hand helds.

"Dum Dums" I here you shout and on hearing that cry then reach into your bag and release your Sarfend Pacifier and make the problem go away.....

I recomend an Uzi for certainy - i suspect in sarfend you may run out of amunition in your desert eagle before the collective IQ starts to rise ... or possibly even a Gimpy although crew served weaponry is difficult to carry in a concealed manner ... hell lets take off and nuke the site from orbit.... its the only way to be sure
