Here we go - 1st Wedding today !

Surprisingly organised so far but knowing me that is a bad sign:suspect:

All batteries charged, all cards formatted to each camera, I number my cards so Odd numbers will go in the 1D and even numbers in the 40D.

Tripod sorted and each camera has a QR plate, flash foot has a QR plate on aswell in case I want to use the flash on the tripod.

Lenses on relevent cameras and 50mm in bag.

Need to pick up some batteries for the Flash.

All instructions books in shoulder bag, just in case.

Card reader and Laptop inc power cord packed - I am going to DL while they are eating + I am an evening guest so I may grab a pint aswell ;)

White Golf brollies did not arrive so ****ed off about that but nice bright day here anyway.

Spare confetti in the bag just in case aswell.

Reflector in bag aswell.

I guess thats that, wish me luck and I hope you all keep your fingers and toes crossed for me :)

Good luck, and the more you can relax, the easier it will be to get 'them' to do so too !
Have you written out a list of all the Important shots that you must get ?

Plenty of spare batteries for the flash - I used mine all day to fill in
Take a bite to eat, and a snack bar or two to keep you going, and some water.
Hope it all work out !

m8 i did my first one last year then my second . first wedding rained all bloody day and was all indoors with flash . not an ideal start but i got through it and they were v.happy .
2nd one went great . started of at brides house , .

once you take your first photo on the day and you know everything is working you will be fine . it`s such a buzz m8 . where else can you get paid for being at such a happy day .
i have 3 more booked for this year and i can`t wait . that is not to say i won`t need a pile of calms before i set out .
i don`t know what kit you have but if you can take two of everything .
a pile of flash cards . no bigger than 4g as if you use bigger and they go tits up you havn`t lost everything .
good idea to take laptop we did the same . it`s good to see what you have .
so relax and enjoy the big day m8 . looking at your site you will be fine .

don`t do anything different just take great photo`s

Wooohoooo, dog dropped off at the sitters, batteries bought for flash x 30 !

First drama of the day has happened though, number 1 choice suit will have to get some special treatment as it has just been blown off the washing line into the dogs morning bowel movement :( can't help but laugh though, shakes head.

Plenty to choose though as I wear a suit every day.

Have to say I did have a pint or 6 but am home now as it was all getting a bit giddy and I was carrying my kit so called it a day when some friends from up the road had a taxi coming.
It went very, very well and I hope the pictures I took reflected it - time will tell although the father of the bride is an ex Pro Wedding tog and said he was very impressed with what he saw on the LCD, ok, first card in the reader, deep breaths please !

Man what a buzz, I am aching in places I didn't know existed, as for my wrist, now I have stopped shooting it is killing, 1dmk3 and 70-200IS + 580ex11 is one hell of a combo to do 12 hours with !

Confession time, I didn't remember to shoot JPEG and RAW and still managed about 8gb at large JPEG so I don't know what that equates to, well other than LOTS !

Did have major recycle problems with the flash though - any suggestions for the best route to go down as to batteries or power packs ?
 
Nice one, at least your still in one piece! Dont know if I would have the balls to do a wedding! Look forward to seeing some :)
 
Try PowerEx 2700 mhah rechargeables in your flash, lots of power. Also I use the Canon CP-E4 battery pack filled with PowerEx's as well. It can slip into a pocket.

What ISO were you shooting at ? Higher ISO = less flash power needed = faster recycles

I use the Canon battery pack, and it really cuts down recycling times, but it does need to fit onto a belt, and it has a cord that is slightly too short, but well worth the silly money it costs for a plastic battery holder..
