Out of curiosity... how do you get onto flickr explore?

Toby - it's based on 'interestingness' which is a combination of how many comments/views/favourites your photo gets, what tags it has, what groups it's added to, who is viewing it, etc. So basically if you get loads of people to look at your photos and comment on them you're quite likely to get on there, which is why sometimes you see some absolute rubbish on there just because someone has got so many people to comment on their photo or something!
 
Ah right, need to work on that a little then lol. I'm not getting many hits at all at the moment. Not really any comments either...

Flickr explore - who knows what crazy algorithm they use. There really is some rubbish on there, while I've seen some absolutely top-quality photos with very few views/comments/etc.

I think that the less effort you make the more the algorithm likes you - it seems to prefer pictures I've not added to any groups and with very few/no tags.

If you want to get more views/comments, the best way is to go and comment on other peoples pictures, and add some contacts (just anyone whose photostream you like)... They're quite likely to have a look at yours too.

Oh and... a bit controversial maybe... But sometimes it seems like any photo gets on as long as it contains a young-ish female, desaturated and with lots of lens flare :cuckoo:
 
and use the tag 'bokeh' in there.. it seems to like that.. ;)

for a while there I saw loads of shots of hands with various colours of nail varnish on explore.. nothing artistic about them, a hand on plain back ground and that was it.. very strange, will never work it out.. anyway I digress..

excellent shots.. love your cat, the bored one is great.. that is 'the look' :)

i'm not usually a fan of HDR but yours are fabulous!
 
faulous.. you are doing some fantastic work here!.. love the twist on the droplets on the cd being paw print shapes :)

and the last one of the milk? on the spoon is superb!
