I'd be worried about the captain and or navigator of a vessel that weighs 500+ tons and can go 68 mph if his navigation is so bad he misses his target by kilometers.

It's a military owned beach. It's the people who shouldn't be there.
 
I did, and read this:

"A spokesman for the Russian defence ministry told local newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda that the hovercraft was on a tactical mission in an area owned by the military.

"Docking at the beach ... is a normal event," a spokesman was quoted as saying. "What people were doing at the beach on the territory of a military (base) is unclear."

If the beach is on military territory, I would guess they claim the beach as theirs also.

But who cares? The Russians are all mad anyway.

There's two potential stories here..


1) Russian hovercraft performs landing (perhaps due to issues) on public beach
2) Russian security issues at military base

Equally bad pr.

If that hovercraft is anything like the one they used to use between Dover -Calais no soldier getting off it will be fit to fight

I couldn't believe how bad the ride was, noisy, bumpy and stinking of jet fuel , I couldn't wait to get off it
