Muslin....dont worry the white floor isnt actually being used like that!

Hi Robbo,

nice set up, but don't pay the model lol

Did you get this as a Kit and what make are the strobes and the kit price??

So how IS the floor going to be used?

A piece of vinyl on the floor works ok, but material is impossible to keep wrinkle free and can become a hazard if someone catches their heel or the material slips on the floor. Check your insurance policy is up to date

it looks ok enough to me. if the final shots look ok to you, i guess it doesn't matter how your set up looks!

Some white gaffer tape from B&Q works wonders with the floor :)

Well it was either £30 for a 3x3 or £40 for a 3x6 and having no experience before went for the 6x3 only to find the floor doesn't really work lol

At the minute I'm looking into vinyl for the floor and some White acrylic to, or anything else you can suggest for bg/ floor?

Yes my insurance it good for a while ;-) lol

Malcolm,

This is all lencarta kit, I think about 665 for it all.

Look on their site they have kits on there etc....

I'd go for a bigger key light for most uses, think 120 octobox or similar, and lower the rear lights a wee bit, especially if you're shooting someone on the floor like that...

whatever works though end of the day...I use 2 silver umbrellas at mid chest height, or two standard reflectors plus barn doors if space is an issue, and 150cm brolly or 120 octo as key.

be better to advise with a sooc shot on it :)

Hi Robbo,

Good kit! Lencarta is the one I am considering. I really want to get on one of Garry's training courses sponsored by Lencarta as they are considered to be excellent.

Good luck with the set and you could consider some clear perspex sheeting to go over the muslin to keep it flat and clean?

What age of kids is this for? Personally I'd use 2 front lights and maybe a floor light if I could get away with it.

Reflector balanced on chair will give you a very narrow shooting angle.

With such a big room I'd probably move the front light(s) further back and ramp the power up. This will give you a more even light across the area so if the child moves forward or back you will still be in the zone.

Oh and you know about taping the cables down, right? :)

Big room.... God yes!

I tried to set it up in my house..... What's a mistake! Lol

For the floor I am looking at White vinyl, White acrylic.... Never thought if clear Perspex.

I have another light coming to and two different soft boxes. 120 octagonal and the long softbox. I also have a black bg to and a snoot... Can't wait to get some proper time to shoot

Yes I have two big roles of tape ready! Lol

The reflector will be help by a person on the day so they can move to suit if needs be.
