Yes
Right, so i'm just on the verge of buying a 400D, and then i see the Sony Alpha 100, same sort of features, doesn't feel as 'comfy' as the canon, and i think that might be the decided factor, but what do you guys think?

If it does not "feel" right don't buy it.

Remember you could have this in your hands all day, so a camera that "fits" is much more comfortable and natural to use.

I cannot get on with Canon( I have large hands), just does not feel good to me whereas Nikon do.

It's all a case of going to the shop and trying the fit out

You have to go with what is comfy. Personally (sorry to upset anybody else out there) I always would stick with either Canon or Nikon. Well, I would stick with Canon but that is because I have built up Canon kit.

As you grow in confidence and use your equipment, I am sure you will benefit from the 400D and the level of add on equipment out there.

Good luck!

Yeah, thats what the sales guy in curry pointed out, that the range of aftermarket and indeed 2nd hand kit far surpasses anything that sony would have to offer.

I would recommend sticking to Canon or Nikon - just for the sake of the amount of kit that is easily available to either the Canon or the Nikon...

:plusone: Sound advice from all.

Remember you're buying into a system and need to check the lens ranges etc. and prices as well, for you may want to buy specialist lens if/when you've decided on what type of pictures appeal to you the most.

Just me 2 penneth worth

Thanks all, i settled on the 400D and bought one last night.

Thanks again for the great advice.
