Hi everyone,

I am a french young photographer, I have my first assignment for an english company. The thing is that I am not used to the english vocabulary of photography.... I need your help to understand everything they want me to do. the word in red are the one I didn't really get..

"
We are likely to use only 2 shots on this 2 page feature, a DPS teamed with
a smaller detail shot
. We are keen to shoot in an interesting atmospheric
light, perhaps in the early evening and if there are any bars or cafés with
people milling around, interesting perspective or reflections similar to the
architectural and urban shots on your website. "

Thank you ..

OK a DPS is a dual page shot so a picture that takes up two pages. They want to put a smaller detail shot into it. This is quite common in magazines.
Interesting perspective or reflections- They are looking for shots where you can see things in the windows. Reflected means like seeing yourself in a mirror. Perspective means angle. They are looking for the angles to help to make the picture.
It seems like you are doing this well already!
Good luck.

DPS= Double Page Spread. i.e. one image across 2 A4 sheets

Smaller Detail Shot= A smaller picture showing a specific part of the subject

Perspective or reflections = Not very specific, you may need to get more guidance from the person commissioning you but I suggest it may be like http://www.rudyburbant.com/Rudy_BURBANT_Eng/URBAN.html

Hope this helps

Enjoy the trip

thank you very much !! Do you know how much can I charge them for this assignment ? and do I need any "release" for the building which will be published ?
