The print heads are blocked up bad, The very reason I gave up using Epson printers.
Nelly.
The only solution is just keep cleaning the print heads until it prints correctly. It may take as much as 6 or 7 times to clean it.
Also actually remove the cartridges and double check one of them hasnt run out of ink. The Status Monitor can tell lies sometimes telling you the carts have ink left in them when in-fact they are empty..
i think i am using compatable inks, got them from same supplyer last year, now you mention it i bet they are different!, cheaper c**p by the looks of things. also done 2 head cleans and 2 nozzle checks. i think i can positively blame the inks mate!. thanks matt. wont be using these again that is for sure.
I moved from an R200 using compatibles to the R300 and used nothing but original Epson ink and still got the same results..
Read the reviews on Epson's, Some people are lucky who use them on a daily basis not giving the heads time to dry up, Leave it for a week and this is the result..
As you are Matt, We aren't here to fall out just post our findings..
I moved on to Canon printers (ip4000 for my A4 work and a i9950 for my A3 work) and never had any problem with compatibles or genuine ink..
Don't get me wrong Matt I used and recommended Epson printers to everyone I know at one time, I have sold dozens with systems and most have had the same banding issues. If you are happy with Epson then all well and good.
